"After retiring from work as a physician, I developed what seemed like an impossible problem with Medicare health insurance. While on an Advantage plan, I badly injured my back, but the Advantage plan refused to pay for the MRI and other studies of my spine that were required to determine the nature of the problem. After struggling for 4 months, I was admitted to the hospital, where the MRI showed a large herniated disc and I finally had back surgery. As a result, I attempted to get away from Advantage plans and applied for a Medicare Part G Supplement to go along with my Medicare Part A & B. I was turned down for the Part G Supplement and thought I had no option but to go with Medicare A & B alone, which exposed me to large financial risk with uncovered deductibles, copays, and other un-reimbursable costs. My husband and I were referred to Justin Searcy at My Insurance Advisor Group, who spent many hours, some of which were after working hours, to help us get health insurance. After more than three months, many phone calls, and many hours of work, Mr. Searcy managed to help both my husband and me obtain Medicare Part G and Part D Supplements to augment our Medicare Part A and B, at a reasonable cost. This relieved us of a tremendous worry and concern that we would not be able to afford good health care in our retirement. Beth A.
